Abstract
An expandable implant device () for insertion between two vertebrae () is disclosed. The device () has a center body () one or more lift bodies () and an external retaining band (). The external retaining band () holds the sides () of the one or more lift bodies (). The center body () has ramp surfaces () having a plurality or sets of ramps () sloped for allowing upward movement of the one or more lift bodies (). The sides () have complimentary ramp surfaces that fit onto the ramps () of the center body (). The height of the device () is increased by upward movement or downward movement or both of the one or more lift bodies () driven by the lengthwise movement of the center body ().
