The distance measuring apparatususing laser light includes: a laser light source; a first optical elementthat converts laser light R1 emitted from the laser light sourceinto collimated light; a light deflecting devicethat includes an oscillating mirrorand scans the laser light on a surface of an object to be measured; a varifocal lensthat is arranged between the first optical elementand the light deflecting deviceand converges scanning laser light R2 scanned by the light deflecting deviceon the surface of a measurement part; and a light quantity detectorthat detects a maximum value of a light quantity of reflected light reflected off the surface of the measurement part
