Abstract
A protective device for a lens () having a protective hood () which protects a lens mount against ballistic effects, the protective hood () having a sight opening () for the lens (), and a closing flap () for closing the sight opening (), wherein the closing flap () can be rotated relative to the protective hood (), wherein the rotary axis (D) of the closing flap () runs through the lens mount.
