Abstract
A method for producing a fluoride fluorescent material includes: subjecting a mixture that contains a fluoride compound in a liquid medium to a pressurization treatment and a heating treatment, the fluoride compound having a chemical composition represented by the following formula: A[MMnF]. A is at least one cation selected from the group consisting of K, Li, Na, Rb, Csand NH, M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Group 4 elements and Group 14 elements, and a is a number that satisfies 0 <a <0.2. The pressurization treatment is performed at a pressure of 1.5 MPa or higher.
