Abstract

A low ignition propensity cigarette has wrapping paper () wrapping filling material into a rod-like shape, and the wrapping paper () includes highly conducting bands () formed by calendering and arranged in a longitudinal direction of the cigarette, the highly conducting bands () having higher thermal conductivity than inherent thermal conductivity of the wrapping paper (), and burning depression bands () formed in the wrapping paper () and superposed upon the respective highly conducting bands ().
