Abstract

A cutting assembly of a chainsaw includes a saw chain and a guide bar () for guiding the saw chain () along a peripheral edge () of the guide bar. The saw chain () has drive links () having drive bases () which with their side surfaces (') are slidingly guided between the side walls () of a guide groove () of the guide bar () with the formation of a friction pairing. Lubricant pockets () are formed in the side surface (). The lubricant pockets () are only open toward the corresponding side wall () of the guide groove () and are otherwise closed. Offside the lubricant pockets (), the side surface () has a flat sliding surface () which slides on the side wall () of the guide groove (). The lubricant pocket () has a mean diameter and a maximum depth. The ratio of the mean diameter to the maximum depth lies in a range of 5.0 up to and including 25.0.
