Abstract

A method and system for providing a metadata driven user interface for a web application are disclosed. A system includes a host component, a metadata interpreter, a rendering engine, and a response component. The host component is configured to receive, from a client, a request for at least a portion of a web application. The metadata interpreter is configured to retrieve metadata describing a user interface of the web application. The rendering engine is configured to render an initial screen based on the metadata. The initial screen is for display by the client in relation to an activity of the web application. The response component is configured to send the metadata and the initial screen to the client.
