Abstract
A non-aqueous ink composition for ink jet recording includes a pigment, a compound represented by General formula 1 below, and a phthalocyanine derivative provided with a polar group not having an amine structure, as a pigment dispersant for dispersing the pigment. The pigment is carbon black. The composition further includes an alkylene glycol monoalkyl ether: (wherein Rindicates an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and Rand Reach independently indicate a methyl group or an ethyl group).
