Provided is an active material used for a sodium ion battery or a lithium ion battery, the active material including: (COONa)-trioxotriangulene represented by the following Formula (1) or (COOLi)-trioxotriangulene represented by the following Formula (2). In Formulae (1) and (2), a double line including a solid line and a broken line represents a single bond or a double bond.
