Abstract
According to one embodiment, there is provided a negative electrode. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode layer. The negative electrode layer contains a titanium composite oxide and a carboxymethyl-cellulose compound. The carboxymethyl-cellulose has a degree of etherification of 1 or more and 2 or less. The negative electrode layer has a density of 2.2 g/cmor more.
