Abstract

A video receiving apparatus includes: a receiving unit which receives video content; an extracting unit which extracts a partial content which is a portion of the video content by analyzing the video content, to obtain a feature of the partial content item, the feature being characteristic within the video content; an information generating unit which generates a composition information item indicating the partial content item and including at least one of a character and an image; a priority setting unit which sets a priority of the composition information item based on the feature obtained from the partial content item, the priority indicating a degree of association between the video content and the composition information item; and a display control unit which controls display of the composition information item on a display screen according to the priority of the composition information item set by the priority setting unit.
