Abstract

An active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte energy storage device contains a lithium-transition metal composite oxide having a crystal structure attributable to space group Fm-3m and represented by the compositional formula (1):LiNbMeAO  (1)wherein Me is a transition metal including Fe and/or Mn, 0<x<1, 0<y<0.5, 0.25≦z<1, A is an element other than Nb and Me, and 0≦p≦0.2.
