Abstract
A DC-DC converter () generates a supply voltage VPW, etc. for supplying to a drive circuit (), by converting a voltage level through an operation of a switching element which changes an electric current passing through an inductor. A mode control signal Cm is generated in a power supply control section () of the display control circuit (), and is supplied to the DC-DC converter (), whereby the DC-DC converter () is operated in a PFM control mode during a period when a load condition is light such as during a non-refreshing period in an intermittent driving, whereas the mode is changed to a PWM control mode in the other periods.
