Abstract

The present disclosure pertains to systems and methods for assessing reliability of communication links in a software defined network (SDN). In one embodiment, a system may include an SDN architecture subsystem configured to generate SDN architecture information and a bandwidth subsystem configured to generate bandwidth information. A latency subsystem may receive the bandwidth information from the bandwidth subsystem and may be configured to generate latency information using the bandwidth information. A failover subsystem may receive the SDN architecture information, the bandwidth information, and the latency information and generate a failover assessment and a failover route for the communication link. A reliability assessment subsystem may receive the SDN architecture information, the bandwidth information, and the latency information, and the failover assessment and generate a reliability assessment. A traffic routing subsystem may receive the reliability assessment and route data traffic to the failover route based on the reliability assessment.
