There is provided a development environment system that appropriately controls the version of a development environment and prevents a conflict between a plurality of users over the same program. The development environment system includes a work area managing unit that allocates a work areaassociated with user information, to a development environment apparatus when a user logs in; and a development environment managing unitthat extracts, from a development environment repository, a development environment associated with a development environment ID included in a development environment use request from the user, and makes the allocated work areaand the extracted development environment available.
