Abstract

In an electro-optical device, a color filter substrateis provided with colored pixels, which are: a red pixel(R) with a colored layer(R) formed inside a concave portion(R) formed in a first surfaceof a light-transmissive substrate, a green pixel(G) with a colored layer(G) formed inside a concave portion(G) formed in said surface, and a blue pixel(B) with a colored layer(B) formed inside a concave portion(B) formed in said surface. In addition, in the substrate, a non-colored pixel(W), at which no colored layer is provided, is provided outside the concave portion(R),(G),(B) at a position where the thickness of the substrateis greater than that at the colored pixels.
