Abstract

A cash box () has a holding area () bordered by a bottom unit () for holding a stack of currency bills. The bottom unit () has at least one belt (), on which the currency bills accommodated in the holding area () stand on their edges. Furthermore, at least one belt support () is adjustable between a first position and a second position. The belt support () in the second position raises the belt () in the direction of the holding area () relative to the first position.
