Abstract

An object of the present invention is to preventing the propagation of light to improve the display quality of the light emitting device. A light emitting device according to an embodiment has a case, a base member disposed at a front side of the case, a plurality of light emitting elements mounted at the front side of the base member, and a cover covering the light emitting elements. The cover has a light transmissive member integrally covering the plurality of light emitting elements, and a light-blocking member disposed at a front side of the light transmissive member and having openings anterior to the light emitting elements respectively. Further, the light transmissive member has, on its back surface, a back-side rough surface portion in a region different from the region facing the front surfaces of the light emitting elements.
