Abstract

The present invention relates to an aqua blue glass composition having a base composition of a soda-lime-silica glass having as main coloring agents total iron, expressed as FeOin the range of 0.30 to 0.60% by weight with a ratio of ferrous (redox) in the range of 20 to 30; FeO in the range of 0.06 to 0.18% by weight; TiOin the range of 0.025 to 1.0% by weight; CoOexpressed in the range of 5 to 30% ppm; Se expressed in the range of 0.1 to 10 ppm; CuO in the range of 0 to 400 ppm; and CrOin the range of 10 to 20 ppm. The glass provides light transmittance, illuminant 'A', greater than 50%, a dominant wavelength (λ) of 487 nm to 498 nm; a solar energy transmittance of less than or equal to 64.4%; an ultraviolet solar transmittance no more than 51.6%; and an excitation purity less than 12 for glass thicknesses from 4 to 12 mm.
