Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for braze-welding a fixing plate and a flow channel cap in a heat exchanger, and to a heat exchanger produced by same. The method includes: providing a fixing platehaving a plurality of resilient protrusionsfor snap-fitting; providing a flow channel cap, one endof which is L-shaped to be snap-fitted onto the resilient protrusionand the other end of which has a stepped portion; inserting the stepped portionof the flow channel capinto the resilient protrusionsuch that an endof the stepped portioncontacts an end of the resilient protrusion; pressing the L-shaped endof the flow channel capagainst the resilient protrusionof the fixing platesuch that the L-shaped endis snap-fitted onto the resilient protrusionand thus tightly contacts the fixing plate, and the resilient protrusionthus press-contacts the endof the stepped portionto enable an endof the stepped portionto tightly contact the fixing plate; and braze-welding the fixing plateand the flow channel cap. The above-described method eliminates a spot-welding process which might otherwise be performed prior to the process of braze-welding the fixing plate and the flow channel cap in conventional heat exchangers, to thereby reduce manufacturing costs and labor and to improve productivity.
