An optical glass that is oxide glass, containing Si, B, La, Ti, Nb, and Zr; containing, denoted as cation %, Siand Bof 5 to 55% in total, Laof 10 to 50%, with a total content of La, Gd, Yand Yb≦70%, and Ti, Nb, Taand Wof 22 to 55% in total, with a content of Ti≦22%, wherein [Si/(Si+B)]≦0.40; the total content of La, Gd, Y, Yb, Zr, Ti, Nb, Ta, Wand Bi≧65%; [Y/(La+Gd+Y+Yb)]≦0.12; [Ba/(La+Gd+Y+Yb)]≦0.40; [(Zr+Ti+Nb+Ta+W)/Zr]≧2; (Ti/B)≧0.85; and an Abbé number νd is in a range from 23 to 35, and a refractive index nd satisfies nd≧2.205−(0.0062×νd).
