A wireless communication devicecarries out wireless communications using different wireless communication schemes through antennas independent of each other. When it decides that a party on the other end is a wireless communication device using a single antenna system, it switches to a simultaneous operation that carries out wireless LAN and Bluetooth wireless communication in parallel, and when it does not decide that the party on the other end is a wireless communication device using a single antenna system, it switches to a time-division operation that carries out the wireless LAN and Bluetooth wireless communication in time division.
