Abstract

Systems and methods for obtaining ranging measurements are described herein. An example method includes injecting a currentinto a formation from a first boreholeto induce an electromagnetic fieldwithin the formation. The currentmay be received at a second borehole. The induced electromagnetic fieldmay be measured. The measurements may be taken, for example, from the first borehole, the second borehole, or another boreholewithin the formation. The method may also include identifying the location of a third boreholewithin the formation based, at least in part, on the measured electromagnetic field
