Abstract

A network node () controls resources () in a network. The node () includes processing units () and assigns, for each set of resources (), to a unit () a master role consisting in reserving and releasing resources () and to two processing units (), named controllers, the role of controlling resources (). A controller () operates in a first mode when a master role is assigned to a processing unit () and the unit () is available to reserve and release resources (). A controller () operates in a second mode when no master role is assigned or when a master role is assigned to a unit () which is not available to reserve and release resources (). In the second mode, a controller () maintains a list () of resources () to be released and selects a resource () from the list () to reserve a resource ().
