Abstract

The invention relates to an airbag module () for being arranged on an instrument panel () comprising a fastening portion () provided for being arranged on the instrument panel (), an inflator (), an airbag (), a receiving portion () for the airbag () extending from the inflator () to the fastening portion () and a retaining portion () which is accessible from outside of the receiving portion () and serves for retaining the inflator (). The invention also relates to a subassembly comprising an instrument panel () and an airbag module () according to any one of the preceding claims, the fastening portion () of the airbag module () being connected to the instrument panel () and a retainer () formed separately from the airbag module () being provided which is connected to the retaining portion () of the airbag module ().
