Abstract

The invention relates to a manually operable input device () having a sensor system () that comprises at least one rotary control knob () for detecting at least one movement characteristic variable. By predefining various movement patterns at the rotary control knob (), various control commands can be generated. For this purpose, the input device () according to the invention comprises an evaluation unit () that compares the signal () generated by the sensor system () with predefined rotational movement codes (C-C) and generates a code-dependent control command () if the predefined movement pattern or the corresponding signal () matches a predefined rotational movement code (C-C).
