Abstract

A recording material for thermal printing methods comprising a carrier and a dye-absorbing layer equipped for the thermal dye transfer, wherein a barrier layer is arranged between the carrier and the dye-absorbing layer and the barrier layer contains gelatine and a polymer binder dispersible in water, the gelatine and the polymer binder dispersible in water being cross-linked with one another, suitable for the production of photo-like images having very good dye migration behavior and without mottle effect.
