Abstract
The opening of a cylindrical battery casewith a bottom is sealed by a seal assembly. The seal assemblyhas an upper valve plate, a lower valve plate, and a bottom plate. The bottom platehas inner gas vent holes. When the inner gas vent holesare viewed from the axial direction of the battery case, at least a part of each inner gas vent holeoverlaps a valve-hole forming portionof the lower valve plate. With this configuration, for example, even when an electrode assemblyis pushed up by increased internal pressure of the battery to push up the bottom plate, the valve hole is not closed.
