Abstract
A gamma radiation detection device () includes a scintillator element () and an optical detector () in optical communication with the scintillator element (). A plurality of particles or voids () are dispersed in the scintillator element () which scatter the scintillation light (), reducing the trapping of scintillation light () by multiple reflections.
