Abstract

A fluid flow control valve () having an elongated valve body () with a longitudinally extending aperture () and a plurality of longitudinally spaced, radially extending ports () formed therein. The valve body () includes an undercut portion () located between two adjacent radially extending ports (). A valve spool () within the longitudinally extending aperture () of the valve body () can be moved between first and second end limits of travel. The valve spool () has a plurality of lands () and reduced diameter portions () defining fluid passages () for fluid communication with selective radially extending ports () of the valve body () depending on a longitudinal position of the valve spool () within the valve body (). A longitudinally extending passage () and a radially extending passage () are formed in the valve spool (). The radially extending passage () terminates in one land () of the valve spool () for fluid communication with the undercut portion () of the valve body ().
