Abstract

A terminal fitting () includes a rectangular tubular main body () with a bottom wall (A), side walls (B,C) extending from opposite sides of the bottom wall (A) and a ceiling wall (D,E) facing the bottom wall (A). A main spring () is in the main body () and resiliently contacts a mating terminal. An auxiliary spring () is cantilevered from the bottom wall (A) and into the main body () for contacting the main spring () from a side opposite the mating terminal. Protection walls () are formed on ends of the side walls (B,C) on the side of the bottom wall (A) for laterally covering the auxiliary spring (). Chamfered portions () are formed on surfaces of the protection walls () for contacting an inner wall () of a hole () of a collective rubber plug ().
