Abstract

A method, system and devices provide for transmitting, by a first device, a body area network (BAN) session initiation signal indicating an availability to establish an on-body communication with a second device. At least one BAN acknowledgement signal is received by the first device from the second device. The first device determines whether one of the at least one BAN acknowledgement signal is received via conducting across a body. The first device proceeds with BAN session initiation based on determining that one of the at least one BAN acknowledgement signal is received via conducting across a body and terminates BAN session initiation based on not determining that one of the at least one BAN acknowledgement signal is received via conducting across a body.
