Abstract

The electrical contactor () according to the invention comprises at least one first switch () that includes a first moving contact () and several second switches () that include a second moving contact (). The contactor further comprises at least one control device for controlling the movement of the or each first (), second () moving contact, respectively. The control device is capable of controlling the movement of the or each first moving contact () into the open position before that of each second moving contact () into the open position, and when the or each first moving contact () is in the closed position, the second switches () are connected in parallel, whereas when the or each first moving contact () is in the open position, the second switches () are connected in series.
