Abstract

A diesel fuel substitute composition includes an alcohol, an acetal, and an additive comprising a component selected from the group consisting of Cdialkyl ethers, alkylated phenols, R—NO, and combinations thereof. A method for forming the diesel fuel substitute is also provided.
