Abstract
An evaporatorfor evaporating a liquid includes a plurality of harpsdisposed within a duct or chamber such that a heated fluid flow(e.g., heated gas or flue gas) passes through each successive row of harpsof the evaporator. Each of the harpsincludes a lower header, a plurality of lower tubes, an intermediate equalizing chamber, a plurality of upper tubes, and an upper header. The lower tubesare in fluid communication with the lower headerand extend upward vertically from the lower header. The upper ends of the lower tubesare in fluid communication with the equalizing chamber.
