Abstract
A rechargeable lithium battery includes a non-aqueous electrolyte, a negative electrode including a silicon-based negative active material, and a positive active material including a compound represented by a Chemical Formula 1, LiCoMO, wherein, −0.2≦x≦0.2, 0<y≦0.2, and M includes Ni and one selected from Mn, B, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, V, Cr, Fe, Cu, Al, and a combination thereof.
