The present invention relates to a teat for a feeding bottle. The teat has an outer wall () and a plurality of recesses () formed in an outer wall (). The plurality of recesses () extend in a circumferential arrangement around a longitudinal axis of the teat. The present invention also relates to a teat with an outer wall (). The outer wall has a region of reduced wall thickness () extending in a circumferential band around a longitudinal axis of the teat.
