Abstract
A method () for controlling lighting includes using a portable pointer device, intended for the focusing of lighting, to determine () its position for establishing position data, and transmitting () the position data to a control unit, which is intended for controlling a lighthead and which controls the lighthead in such a way that the lighthead produces lighting for an object from a direction determined by the position data and location data, the location data having been established by determining a location of the pointer device in relation to the lighthead.
