Abstract

The invention relates to a headrest that is retained on a vehicle seat by at least one support rod () and that has at least one adjustment part () that can be moved relative to the back rest by at least one drive mechanism () having at least one first drive () that is fixed to the adjustment part and a second drive () that is fixed to the back rest. The special feature is that the drive () has an overload safety device () that can be moved from a starting position into a release position when a maximum force acting on the adjustment part () is exceeded, and, in the release position, the drive () is at least partially relieved of the force acting on the adjustment part ().
