Abstract
An ink jet device includes a plurality of ink jet heads each including an ink housing unit that houses therein ink, a pressure application unit that ejects a droplet of the ink by applying pressure to the ink, and a nozzle through which the droplet of the ink is ejected, wherein with respect to at least one of the plurality of ink jet heads, a preliminary drive operation and a main drive operation are performed, the preliminary drive operation is an operation of pushing the ink toward an outer edge of the nozzle to the extent that the droplet of the ink is not ejected through the nozzle, and the main drive operation is an operation of ejecting the droplet of the ink through the nozzle after performance of the preliminary drive operation.
