Abstract

Base stations and Radio Network Controllers, RNCs, and methods in such devices are disclosed. A base station () sends access indications to a RNC () indicating assignments and/or releases of common uplink resources. The RNC () uses the access indications received from the base station () to differentiate between successive accesses on the common uplink resources by a same User Equipment, UE (), and to correspondingly differentiate between the processing of given data frames from the UE () as belonging to one or other of the successive accesses.
