Abstract

A method for updating a thin client image includes the steps of writing a service operating system (OS) from a network device to limited capacity memory of a thin client device, writing a large part of a new image from the network to the memory of the thin client in a series of portions, without writing over the service OS, and writing a final small part of the new image over the service OS.
