Abstract

There is provided a developing unit capable of suppressing a memory to leave on a developing roller even when held under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions for a long period of time before the start of use. The developing unit has a developing roller and a toner regulating member in contact with each other with resin particles therebetween. The resin particles have a toluene absorbency of 20 g or more and 50 g or less per 40 g of the resin particles and a Martens hardness of 1.0 N/mmor more and 50.0 N/mmor less.
