A remote operation system includes a user terminalthat includes a server function unit for operating an internal function of the terminal according to remote operation, a support terminalthat remotely operates the user terminal, and a relay serverthat includes an access management unit for holding an access timing to start remote operation of the user terminalby the support terminaland executes access to the user terminalat the access timing. When being accessed by the relay server, the user terminalstarts up the server function unit to notify the support terminalthat the server function unit has been started up.
