Abstract

A power transfer interface () is formed of a primary repeater coil () and one or more secondary repeater coils () coupled via a wired interconnect (), and integrated within a garment (). The repeater coils operate as part of a wireless charging or powering system in which a transmit coil (), located in a vehicle or a radio, is driven to magnetically couple a wireless radio frequency (RF) power signal to the primary repeater coil () which in turn transfers the RF power signal to the secondary repeater coil () via the wired interconnect (). The system further comprises a portable electronic device () having a receive coil (). The receive coil () wirelessly receives the RF power signal from the secondary repeater coil (), which can in turn be used to power the portable device or charge a battery of the portable device.
