Abstract
An optical fiberpropagates a light beam at a predetermined wavelength at least in an LPmode and an LPmode. In regionsandin which the intensity of a light beam in the LPmode is greater than the intensity of a light beam in the LPmode, at least a part of a Young's modulus in the regionon the circumferential side of the regionin the core in which the intensity of the light beam in the LPmode is greater than the intensity of the light beam in the LPmode is smaller than a Young's modulus in the regionin which the intensity of the light beam in the LPmode is greater than the intensity of the light beam in the LPmode.
