Abstract
A diagnostic device which can measure quickly and has simple circuit is provided. A charge/discharge circuitsupplies charge current to a rechargeable batteryand discharges the rechargeable battery. The charge/discharge circuitalso breaks charge current or discharge current of the rechargeable batteryin charging or discharging. A voltage measurement partmeasures terminal voltage of the rechargeable batteryafter breaking the charge or discharge current. Diagnostic meansjudges whether the rechargeable batteryis deteriorated or not based on the measured voltages. Voltage change of deteriorated rechargeable batteryafter breaking the charge or discharge current is more rapid than that of healthy rechargeable battery. The diagnostic meanscan judge whether the rechargeable batteryis deteriorated or not based on such voltage change.
