Abstract
The invention relates to a sabot () for a sub-caliber projectile () having a projectile core (). When the projectile exits a weapon barrel, the sabot detaches from the projectile core () without transferring momentum by means of a separating aid () incorporated between the projectile core () and the sabot. The separating aid () has a plurality of fingers () having at least one predetermined breaking point (), which is connected to the projectile core () by a type of snap-connection bead () on the fingers/braces ().
