Abstract

A white glass includes, in terms of mole percentage on the basis of oxides, from 50 to 73% of SiO, from 0 to 10% of BO, from 3 to 17% of NaO, from 0.5 to 10% of at least one of NbOand GdO, and from 0.5 to 10% of PO. In the white glass, a total content RO of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO is from 2 to 25%.
