Abstract
A coil (). The coil () comprises a conductor formed in the shape of winding layers (). The conductor comprises an insulating coating () surrounding a conductive core (). The coil further comprises paper strips () disposed proximate one or more of the winding layers () to provide strain relief against mechanical forces exerted on the coil () and to provide electrical insulation between winding layers (). In an embodiment where the coil () further comprises a core () the paper strips () are beneficially disposed at corners (A,B,C, andD) of the core () and further between winding layers () at the corners (A,B,C,D).
